Why Choose TGIS

At The Global Ice Skater we understand that not all developing skaters have access to unlimited year-round ice time, a comprehensive team training approach, or enough lesson time to learn technique theory and methodology.  We work with skaters as a team to maximise their training environment conditions wherever they train through an individualised whole skater plan to make them the best athlete they can be.  TGIS combines  American, European and Russian standards of excellence and personalised instruction with global coaching experience and a positive teamwork philosophy.

With The Global Ice Skater, you get:

  • Program Component Score (PCS), jump/spin technique theory and video analysis classes (using the skater's own videos). Conducted entirely OFF-ice, they are a cost-effective and time-efficient way to learn how to train better ON the ice.

  • Vaganova method ballet and yoga classes which will safely and precisely train your entire body and prepare it for the demands of high intensity program content.

  • Strength and conditioning and flexibility classes using the same functional training, biomechanics-based exercises and sports science research used by elite international skater athletes.

  • Sports nutrition classes to maximise your performance.

  • Sessions with our sport psychologist to help you overcome challenges and set and reach goals.

  • Access to our network of trusted resources from choreographers to costume designers whose services are also available for online consultations.
